FAQs
DEPOSIT, REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
A $150.00 deposit is required to hold your reservation. For your convenience we can accept credit cards or checks. If you are reserving more than one boat a $150.00 deposit is required per boat. Deposits are nonrefundable EXCEPT if we cancel the trip for any reason. If we cancel the trip the deposit will be returned to you or you can request it be put toward another future date. We reserve the right to cancel the trip for any reason. Reasons may be but are not limited to poor weather, lack of fish or boat problems. Deposits are due within 7 days of making your reservation. Your name is penciled in the book until the deposit is received and after seven days the date becomes available on a first come first serve basis.
If you cancel or postpone for any reason please let us know ASAP. If you let us know with at least 30 days notice we will put your deposit towards another date. If you cancel with less notice than the 30 days the deposit will be forfeited. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the trip you will be billed for an additional $150.00 deposit.
Please understand that last minute cancellations cost us a full day trip and lost days don't help with ongoing expenses. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring food and drink as well as comfortable clothing based on the current weather conditions. A hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended. Please DON'T wear dark soled shoes or boots. They scuff the boat decks. Bring a camera and a cooler to take back fish and/or memories!
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Alcohol is permitted Drugs are not. Please prepare to drink in moderation. Drunkenness and a pitching boat with hooks and gear are a recipe for an accident.
FISH CLEANING
We provide fish cleaning at no extra charge. This leads to the most frequently asked question.
TIPPING
Any and all tips are greatly appreciated. Though we generally don't use a mate, many of our sister boats do. And mates generally work exclusively for tips. I'm constantly asked about how much is a good tip. We offer a service and the amount of a tip should reflect the amount of service you receive. Tips range from 10 to 25% much like those given to a waiter or waitress. Only you can determine how you felt about our, or anyone else's, service.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Our morning trips generally start at 6:30am and end around 2:30pm. Evening trips run from 4:00pm till dark. Evenings are generally half day trips.
GOALS
This is the most important set of questions. We run around 80% repeat business. I'd like to think this is because we supply a service that meets the needs and goals of our customers. And they are truly diverse. Some people want to learn new techniques, some just want to catch fish. While others are more interested in a tour of the area. We are one of the few operators that offer trips by the hour for kids. Let us know what you want out of your day. If we can't accommodate it we'll tell you. Please ask lots of questions before you send any money. To us or anyone else. You want a guide that fills your needs. It is after all your money.
